Is there any way my friend can share WiFi from almost a Kilo meter away?
What’s the farthest distance WiFi can be shared. What’s the best available antenna for this.
First of all, you need line of sight between the two places. If not, forget it.
If you can see each other from the rooftops, then you may be able to get a wireless bridge and 2 external antennas.
I used to run a wireless bridge about 1km, but now only run about 200m.
I use flat-panel antennas, commonly found on Ebay. Make sure they match frequency of your bridges (usually 2.4Ghz). The higher the gain number, the stronger the signal.
Then you need coax cable and the proper plugs to run from antenna to bridges. Some wireless routers can be set to bridge mode, but not all.
I use the following:

set in bridge mode. These can also run as AP and Client mode while bridging, so one house can use one unit as a wireless AP.
It takes some know-how, maybe some friends may be able to help if they have any knowledge.
Most routers that can bridge, have extended timing parameters due to the farther distances, whereas simple home routers may timeout over longer distances, even though the signal is strong.
