i need help with motorola phone tools!!!!!!!!!!!?
hey ineed some serious help i have used phone tools repeatedly with no prob but now its all changed. when my v 400 is connected the phone screen on the monitor says either mobile phone not connected or communication port unavailable.ive tried evryting and i am stumped what to do to fix this please helllllllllllppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes Motorola Phone Tools can be infuriating. Here’s what I suggest.

Install the latest drivers
2. plug in your phone only after installation
3. If you want to use Bluetooth, then select connect to different phone under Setup
4. Make sure you turn off your phone and then turn it on again. Let it fully cycle through
5. Select V400 as your phone model
6. Use bluetooth
7. It will prompt you to make your phone discoverable
8. Follow the instructions
9. You should be done
In the event there’s no connection, force the phone setup in MPT i.e. V400, then bluetooth. Then shut down MPT and reboot your PC. At the same time, turn off your phone and turn it on again. Please allow it fully cycle. I also recommend that you allow your PC to fully load up before launching MPT. The software as mentioned is notoriously unstable and finicky. In worse case scenario, reinstall MPT (after you exported your SMSs or whatever data you want).
I’ve been using MPT since 2003 and it does take some tinkering to get working. If you do NOT have patience, try Mobiledit

Latest versions do Calendar, Phone Book, SMS, file transfer. It’s much more stable that MPT but you’ll have to buy the software eventually …
