old xbox adaptor v. new xbox adaptor?
i have the old (white) adaptor with the one antenna and i only get 1 bar if im lucky and usually 0 and i get disconnected from LIVE about 10-15 times a day. Theres no chance that i can move the router closer. none. i just want to know if the new one will give me more bars. thanks
Probably not. Distance and shielding are the biggest factors.

How To Install A Vauxhall Astra Aftermarket Radio
Small Battery: use a battery to test speaker wires. Touching the (+) positive and (-) negative battery leads to a pair of speaker will cause the speaker to make a “Pop” sound indicating that pair of wires goes to that speaker. Voltage Meter: Always check +12 Volt power wires for voltage before making wire connections. These wires will fluctuate between 10 and 14 Volts. Solder Iron or Crimp Tool: make wire to wire connections using either a solder iron or electrical tape, OR plastic crimp terminals found at most
PLUS: Wire ties or electrical tape: to neatly bundle and organize your hardware or auto parts stores.
Installation steps for Vauxhall Astra aftermarket radio
•The best option with the Astra (aside from replacing the head unit) is to get a wired FM transmitter.
•It plugs into the antenna port on the back of the radio, and the car’s antenna plugs into the transmitter.
•When you listen to XM, it essentially disconnects the car antenna to virtually eliminate radio station interference.
•I’m sure at some point there will be aftermarket parts for the trim bezel and the wiring harnesses.
•With an aftermarket head unit the DIC won’t be able to show radio info. Hopefully there will be a way to keep the DIC from crapping out altogether due to lack of factory radio.
•This adaptor is required to replace a Vauxhall Astra factory fitted radio with a Clarion aftermarket model.
•It converts the car’s original power and speakers wiring connector to a standard ISO connector, as used on all our radios.
•Simply plug one end of the adaptor into your cars wiring harness, and the other end into your new radio; no cutting of wires is necessary.
•The good news for those that are looking to install a new stereo into their vehicle is that car manufacturers have long ago made sure to make it easy to swap.
•Now the only hard part is making sure the vehicle fits into the dash and the speakers fit with your new stereo receiver.
•Since every car model may have a different dash depth it is important to know the dimension before you buy a car stereo.
•Some stereos are double DIN size or single DIN size making installation a breeze or a nightmare.
•The good news is that most car stereo manufacturers create stereos made for just about every make and model vehicle on the market.
•Besides the head unit, it is important to put lots of thought into the speakers amps and wiring you will use.
•Your car stereo will sound only as good as your speakers so choose them correctly.
•You are installing a non-standard radio – ie; not utilising the separate display, then Halfords can supply the relevant adaptor leads / looms.
•If you have wheel mounted controls, they may no longer work although there is also a loom for this function.
•These adaptors will convert the non din-sized aperture left after removing the factory stereo to a single din size ready for head unit installation.

•The floating pink wire is supposed to be loose and is a mute wire. Connect blue wire to an ignition switched source.
•Also, removing the radio will almost certainly kill On Star and things like door chimes unless and appropriate aftermarket harness is available.
•In my opinion this is the best way to set up your stereo if you decide to switch it up. I did it to get a better quality sound out of my subs, and also to have the touch screen for my IPod.
A word about the radio installation kit you are about to install. There are many manufacturers of radio installation kits for this vehicle. Each manufacturer produces slightly different variations of the same kit, and a few make individual kits for specific vehicles. The pictured installation kit shown in the illustrations below is a standard kit used for many. Radio installation kits change with the model and years of production of the vehicle. When selecting a kit for this vehicle, make sure the kit you purchase states on the package the installation kit will work with your vehicle model and year. Some kits may require additional setup. Certain kits may be multi function kits designed to work with multiple vehicles and may require the installer to remove break away screw mounting tabs attached to the kit that are not required for your particular vehicle.
