what type of fish can I mix with my male convict cichlid?
I have one male convict. He’s been in my new 20 gal tank for about 2 months during the cycling process. he has become comfortable and rearranged the tank to his liking. i’m afraid he may be territorial. i want to add at least one more fish but I’m not sure what type of fish i can add. I don’t want fry. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
keep in mind that. no matter what u end up doing. that u will eventually need to upgrade the size of ur tank. i would recommend gettng other dwarf south american cichlids like fire mouths. rams would work. angelfish. earth eaters. try clown loaches or rainbow fish. when u get the new guy i would get a new piece of decor as well. so when u get home take ur convict out. but not for a week like FISH MAN said. not necessary. newayz. put the new guy in and new decor. rearrange the aquarium and let the new guy settle in for an hour or so. or until he/she is showing signs of normal behavior and no stress. put ur convict back in and u will be ok.
