Battery Kenwood
I have a kenwood kac7201 amp and i am not sure how to wire my power control wire?
I wired my kenwood kac7201 amp to my battery and its getting 12 volts, the problem is i dont have anything wired to my power control port and i dont know how so my amplifier is not turning on please if u have any ideas im open to anything
To TEST the amp without running a wire, just get a small wire and jump it to the (+) that goes directly to the battery. To INSTALL the amp correctly, the wire should go to the REMOTE (Blue) wire. If you connect it to the RED wire, the amp will turn on and off with the vehicle. And thats OK too.

How To Remove A Kenwood Aftermarket Radio

In this article in five simple steps we are going to learn the procedure in a simple way. Before that let us have a look at the things that we need to keep it ready to complete this job. They are DIN tools, small knife and crescent wrench preferably a smaller one.
The first step would be to ensure safety. When we start removing the stereo sometimes accidents might take place due to short circuiting. So first we must take out the negative terminal from the car battery for which we can take the help of crescent wrench. While doing this remember to use the hand brake after the car is switched off.
There is a small trim ring made of plastic that surrounds the radio. Our next step is to detach that ring from the radio. To do this we can use ordinary knife blade. Around the corners the blade is slid. At a point the ring comes out as we keep prying.
Next it is time to make use of our DIN tools. These tools are usually small. They have very thin blades and they have hooks at the edge of the tool. If we carefully notice we will find that on both sides of radio there are many slot openings. These DIN tools are fitted into these slots. We may have a doubt where to purchase these DIN tools. These DIN tools come along with stereo. In case we don’t find these DIN tools we can buy them in any automobile electronics shop.
The fourth step is to push them at the same time into the radio. A very distinct sound is heard on either side. This means these DIN tools have correctly fitted into the stereo of the car. Now its time to pull out. To do this now car stereo is taken out by the pull of the tools.
The radio must be pulled out till we are able to find the plugs. The plugs that we see are the radio plugs. Along with that we should be able to see wiring harness. A wiring harness usually has different coloured wires. Sometimes we may even find many plugs. These are mainly for varied options and function. Detach all plugs from their connection before the stereo set is completely removed and taken out.
