some sort of police sonar?
I was just thinking about this on my way home. The police dispatch does use diffrent frequencyies than your ordinary CB radios and walky talky. Well you know how they have those police scanners for $100 at radio shack to pick up those police dispatch frequencyies, now is there or could there be some sort of technology that can send out a sonar signals and when ever theres a cop car with its radio on, i mean comeon the dispatch is constantly talking. so then when there is a cop near by, it would eather work like a radar ditector with beaps, or have some sort of GPS interface or even just like a sonar screen that spins and come up with red dots every time a sonar is sent out and picks up a dispatch signal from the cops radio.
The police radios use RF or radio frequencies. Sonar is sound waves. Sound waves won’t interfere with radio waves. Plus, while a police channel might be busy, any one particular officer isn’t doing all the talking. There are many officers on the streets using the same channel at any given time. This means that the transmission you are hearing many be coming from a place that isn’t anywhere near you. The officer that is near you may not be on his/her radio and have measured your speed by radar or lidar. Sorry, your idea just isn’t practical.
