Are hand held radar detectors illegal for police to use in Texas?
I heard somewhere that hand held radar detectors are illegal for police to use when giving out a ticket. I know I’ve been “clocked” going over the speed limit in Texas and Colorado but if they weren’t legal… Does anyone have any information on this subject?

The only difference is the hand held models have a battery pack, instead of plugging into a cigarette plug.
They are completely legal.
