How powerful does my Amp need to be?
I’m looking to install 2 x 400W 10″ Phoenix Gold Subs and a Bazooka 300W 6.5″ Bass Tube in the trunk, 2 x 240W Pioneer 6 x 9’s in the rear parcel shelf, and 2 x Kenwood 260W Components in the doors. How powerful does my Amp realistically need to be?
It seems the values of power that you provided are the peak values. The real values of power are measured in watts rms. Look for the power (rms) specifications of your subs and speakers. Sum all the power in rms of each speaker, that would be your max total power required. You should get 1 2ch amp one for your subs, one 4 ch amp for your front speakers and rear speakers and one 1 ch amp to your bass tube.
