Spst Momentary
Few questions on Guitar Killswitches?
I was looking into installing one on my strat-style guitar, and have found many walkthroughs on how to go about it. The thing I’m not too clear on is exactly what kind of one I’ll need.
What I want is a button I can press to kill the signal of the guitar, (Such as Buckethead uses)
I want to know what EXACTLY I’ll need, as I’ve seen many different buttons with or without words like ‘SPST’ ‘Momentary’ ‘Normally Open/Closed’ which is the one I’ll need for what I want to use it for? (I don’t want to go through installing it and find out I’ve gotten one that will only allow sound through the guitar when I’m actually pressing it)

Hi! You just need a single-pole/single-throw (SPST) normally-closed momentary switch. When you press the button (or toggle lever), you will be interrupting the signal to the pickup, producing the desired effect. With a Gibson, you just turn the volume of one pickup all the way down, and switch between that pickup and the full-volume pickup with the pickup selector switch.
