How do I work a police scanner?
I got a Bearcat 300 police scanner at a garage sale and I have no idea how to work it. Can someone tell me how I tune in to the police and listen.

You also need to find out the frequencies used in your area for police, fire, etc. Googling your city and police scanner frequencies should come up with something, or you possibly might have to google by your county, but you will eventually find something. Just play with the wording and you’ll find everything you need to know. Good luck.
BTW, this question is a little mislocated….scanners referenced in this category are more towards computer scanners for copying/storing images and documents. It would have fit better in the consumer electronics category for exposure to possible answers, but I hope the info I provided gets you where you want to go.

The Usefulness of a Radio Scanner
