How do you get music from your pc to your phone through usb?

i have the Motorola RAZR V3m. i have a usb and program that you can transfer ringtones from your pc to your phone, it’s called BitPim. i make the ringtone with music from my pc. and click done. then i click the send phone data button, it loads and my phone beeps twice. i look in every folder of my phone and i can’t find it, i have a memory card. PLEASE HELP!

Ready Boost Your Computer With a USB Flash Drive

If you have found that your computer is running a little slower and you want to speed up games, videos and the Windows operating system itself, there could be a solution. Since Windows is able to access memory much faster than it can get things off the hard drive, recently used programs run more quickly than ones that you haven’t touched in a while. Unfortunately, newer versions of Windows, including Vista, require a lot more memory than earlier ones.

It’s possible to buy new memory just about everywhere, but there are some reasons this might not be the best solution. Inexperienced users may have trouble installing these cards and it’s possible to run out of extra slots. The solution that can make things easier is your USB port, plug a flash drive into it and you will be able to add a little more to your system.

Using Ready Boost along with a USB flash drive allows you to easily and quickly add more memory to your computer, speeding things up for software and you’re OS. It’s just a matter of plugging in the drive, installing the program and adding the extra memory to your computer.

Make sure you have a flash drive and a computer capable of USB 2.0. Once you plug the drive into your computer, you will get an autoplay dialog box, including a selection for “Speed up my system”. Turn on “Use this device” and you will get more memory! Try out your most resource heavy program, like a game or computer art program, to test the results. The flash drive will be used just like the RAM inside the computer, offering a boost in speed.

Ready Boost doesn’t just work with USB drives, either, it will also work with SD cards and Compact Flash cards, such as the ones used in a digital camera. However, your computer must have a built in card slot to use these, external card readers won’t work. In addition, you must have Windows Vista and a card that offers Ready Boost compatibility. Look on the packaging to find a Ready Boost logo.

Only one flash drive can be used per computer and there are size limitations, you can only use Ready Boost with memory devices between 256 Mb and 4 Gb in capacity. Larger or smaller drives don’t work. The speed boost you will get depends on the capacity of the drive. Try using a USB flash drive with the same capacity as your computer’s memory.

Therefore, a 1 Gb RAM computer should use a 1 Gb flash drive; smaller flash drives would significantly reduce the speed you’d get from using Ready Boost. It’s also important to remember that you can’t use this flash drive for file storage while it’s being used by Ready Boost. You will have to change the settings under Properties, or reformat the drive if you want to do this.

For Vista computers that need a boost of speed, a USB flash drive and Ready Boost could be the solution. Remember to pay attention to the drive size and other factors and you will soon be surfing, gaming and working a whole lot faster.

How do I make a WiFi USB adapter?

Can anyone explain how or a site that shows how to make a WiFi USB adapter? Not a antenna but the adapter itself. What goes into your PC to allow you to access WiFi.
If I wanted to buy one I would I am more interested in making one. Any ideas clues specs sites?

Taking Advantage of Public WiFi Hotspots

If you are a road warrior away from your home town you may not have an easily accessible place to find an Internet connection for your laptop enabling access to the Internet world to get your email, read reports, work on Excel spreadsheets and send off a Power Point presentation. That’s where WiFi ‘hotspots’ come into our picture, something we touched on before. These are wireless networks that can be very convenient.

Many cities have jumped on the bandwagon of providing WiFi throughout the downtown core. Enabling business people to use this facility provides a boost to the local economy.

There is a cost to the municipality of doing this, of course. They need a provider to set up and maintain the network. The physical structure of the network has to take the size and layout of the city, tree cover, landscape and other factors into consideration. I read a recent article which addressed the problems some major cities are having with WiFi zones. Chicago and L.A. have given up because it is too costly resulting from advertising revenue projections being too high.

Of course you can always go to the over-priced coffee shop where asking for a regular coffee brings a blank stare.

Before you ride merrily off to the next burg you need to know if your hardware will support WiFi. A wireless network uses radio waves just like cell phones, televisions and radios do. In fact, communication across a wireless network is a lot like two-way radio communication. Here’s what happens:

1. A computer’s wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it using an antenna.

2. A wireless router receives the signal and decodes it. It sends the information to the Internet using a physical, wired Ethernet connection.

The process also works in reverse, with the router receiving information from the Internet, translating it into a radio signal and sending it to the computer’s wireless adapter.

As long as they all have wireless adapters, several devices can use one router to connect to the Internet. This connection is convenient and virtually invisible, and it’s fairly reliable. If the router fails or if too many people try to use high-bandwidth applications at the same time, however, users can experience interference or lose their connections.

If you want to take advantage of public WiFi hotspots, the first thing you’ll need to do is make sure your computer has the right wireless gear. Most new laptops and many new desktop computers come with built-in wireless transmitters. If your laptop doesn’t, you can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into the PC card slot or USB port. Desktop computers can use USB adapters, or you can buy an adapter that plugs into the PCI slot inside the computer’s case. Many of these adapters can use more than one 802.11 standard.

Once you’ve installed your wireless adapter and the drivers that allow it to operate, your computer should be able to automatically discover existing networks. This means that when you turn your computer on in a WiFi hotspot, the computer will inform you that the network exists and ask whether you want to connect to it. If you have an older computer, you may need to use a software program to detect and connect to a wireless network.

The question might be asked as to why not use a web-enabled PDA device. They are wonderful for most emailing but they are problematic when it comes to opening attachments or working with lengthy reports. The screen is so small you can get a headache just from squinting at them too long. And your typing skills can drop dramatically so that your messages can be almost unintelligible. So for the ‘heavy-duty’ stuff a laptop that can access WiFi becomes not just convenient but a necessity.

I own a pair of Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro headphones (5-35.000Hz, SPL>98Db) and a pocket amplifier C&C XO (0-100Khz, distortion 0.01%)

I am loking for a portable MP3/WMA etc. Player that will make full use of my audio setup. The reviews I read speak about mid range frequencies, touch screens and nice bright colors, none apealing so far.
